Security Council 2
President: Eric Gulotty, Jr (AAIA)
My name is Eric Gulotty, a senior from Asia American International
Academy, and it is my honor to be serving as your president for this
year’s Security Council. I began my MUN career in middle school as a
delegate, and have since then slowly grown to enjoy nearly all aspects of the MUN experience. STMUN XIIwill be my 15th conference and my sixth time chairing. I enjoy MUN for multiple reasons, from the intense yet diplomatic debate-style; to the creative or even outlandish solutions proposed by delegates; to the experience of meeting new people and making new friends. I believe that MUN has a little something for everyone, and I am always learning or experiencing new things at every conference I attend. Aside from MUN, I enjoy playing basketball, gaming, and catching up on sleep. I hope this conference will provide you all with a meaningful and fun experience, regardless of how long you have participated in MUN, and I look forward to meeting all of you in December!
Deputy President: Esther Duann (PAS)
Hi delegates! I’m Esther Duann, a sophomore at Pacific American School(PAS), and it is my honor to serve as your deputy chair of the Security Council for this year’s STMUN. When I participated in MUN conferences for the first time, I was fascinated to see delegates collaborate with each other and debate complicated topics that seem impossible for us, who were only 8th graders at the time, to understand. With a seemingly ordinary weekend of intense debates and erudite conversations, I was drawn into the world of model UN and realized that I yearned for something greater. As I furthered my pursuit of this path, my interest in the different dynamics of global issues grew and was ingrained into me. This year’s STMUN would be my seventh conference and my third chairing experience, and I’m extremely excited to work cooperatively with every delegate in the Security Council. Aside from MUN, my hobbies include watching Youtube, traveling, and listening to music. I wish you all the best of luck and look forward to seeing you guys in December!
